DR. LAURA BOYD NATIONAL ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR AWARD RECIPIENT 2024

FFTA is pleased to announce that Jill Jacobs is the recipient of the Family Focused Treatment Association 2024 Dr. Laura Boyd Advocate of the Year Award.

Jill Jacobs has served as the CEO of Family Builders by Adoption for 28 years, dedicating her career to the agency’s mission of creating permanency for children and youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems.

This past year, Jill Jacobs was instrumental in the passage of Senate Bill 407 in California. This bill strengthens the protections for LGBTQ+ children and youth through requirements for foster parent education, training and approval process.

Jill was a key voice in advocating for a budget request that was passed in the 2023-24 budget process for a one-time increase of 8.8% to the Foster Family Agencies rate.

FFTA will recognize Jill's outstanding work as an advocate for children and families at the upcoming 20th Annual Public Policy Institute, May 6 & 7, 2024 in Washington, DC.
